Description

This course will present the relationships between drugs abuse and criminal offending, including the historical and contemporary criminal justice system responses to illegal substances. This course will examine the history of drug usage, legislation and enforcement, sociological and psychological drug abuse, treatment, and prevention. This course will explore the relationships between individual and group behavior and their relationship towards drugs in society; issues surrounding the drug use and its relationship to crime; and legal medicalization of drugs in our society.
