Lisa Brockington is an Adjunct Instructor at Newberry College. She has been a medical-surgical nurse for over 9 years. She has clinical experience in Senior Mental Health, Emergency Department of Nursing, Hospice, Public Health Nursing, and Case Management. She received her ADN from Central Carolina Technical College in Sumter, SC, in 2012 and her BSN degree from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, in 2015. She obtained her MSN degree from Francis Marion University in 2020.  

Lisa began working in academia as a part-time clinical nursing instructor at Fortis College, Columbia, SC. During that time, she instructed nursing students in the clinical setting and mentored nursing graduates. Her area of expertise is medical-surgical nursing. Lisa has taught Transition to Practice and Health Assessment. 

Lisa is married to Demetrius Brockington and has three children: Liberty, Emily, and Luke. 

 

Description

Nursing theory and practive in holistic care of individuals requiring primary, secondary, or tertiary nursing interventions related to psychological and sociocultural stressors. Focuses on adolescents and adults who are confronting selected mental health stressors. Three classroom and six clinical laboratory hours per week.
