Course Description: This course provides students with the knowledge to understand the impact of cultural perceptions of health and illness as a component of the holistic delivery of health care. The student is expected to develop an awareness of cultural differences among patient populations needed to foster cultural sensitivity and demonstrate cultural competence toward patients with diverse values, beliefs, and feelings.

This course could be integrated into public health, healthcare management, nursing, and health science programs.
