Description
Vienna has long been at the center of musical innovation and development. From the Classical period (1750-1825) until the modern day, Vienna has been known as the musical city and was the home of Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and Strauss as well as many other famous composers. This course will focus on the contributions to the development of music of the Viennese composers, specifically Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven and will examine how the city of Vienna became the musical center of Western music.
